A traditional stone-built Dales cottage in the heart of an unspoilt village
From the moment you walk through the garden gate and into the lounge you’ll be soaking up centuries of history. The fireplace with its ancient stone lintel houses a cosy log-burning stove. Logs are provided for the first night. The Smart TV allows you to log into your subscription streaming services, such as Netflix or Amazon Prime and also provides many free on-demand and catch-up facilities. It has a satellite tuner (Freesat), so there is a wide variety of channels available. Also, connected to the TV is a DVD Player. There is a mini Hi-Fi in the room featuring a Radio and CD Player, which has a USB input for your own playlists.
The well-equipped kitchen is perfect for enjoying home-cooked meals and the extending dining table gives plenty of room to seat four. Appliances include an electric cooker with four-ring hob, microwave oven, large upright fridge-freezer and a washing machine. Alternatively, The Black Swan pub is only a short stroll up the road and serves a variety of mouth-watering dishes in the bar or restaurant.
A family bathroom with full-size bath and shower over, toilet and wash basin is also to be be found on the ground floor.
Upstairs, the accommodation comprises a main bedroom with king-size bed, wardrobe and dressing table. From the windows, there are marvellous views over open country. We even provide binoculars for the odd bit of bird spotting! The en-suite is spacious and has a large shower cubicle, toilet and wash basin.
The second bedroom houses a double bed, in addition to a wardrobe and chest of drawers. There are more views of fields to the rear of the property.
Outside, you can enjoy breakfast or elevenses from the south-facing garden bench. The front garden has a small lawn, flower beds with shrubs and is fenced on all sides. At the rear of the property, is a patio garden with furniture. As the sun moves round, this is the ideal place for an al fresco lunch or early evening aperitif.
